I'm 25 and have been listening to SxDx for like 7 years (when Live at the Roxy came out). Social D was one of those bands that just completely eluded my radar until that album came out. I loved punk, I grew up on country, so you'd think I would have heard of Social D. Not the case.

    Check this out:

I actually heard Social D for the first time at a listening station in the WOW (Tower Records) store in Long Beach. How stupid is that? Anyway, I was like, "wow, I have heard these dudes are good, I'll check it out." They have been my favorite band since. I have seen them live 35+ times and Mike Ness solo twice. The new album fucking rules.

28 years. Been listening to them since 1989, when a friend of mine gave me Prison Bound. Hooked ever since.

I'm a baby compared to alot of you here! I'm 24 turnig 25 in February and I have been listening to Social D since I was 18. I started getting into the whole punk rock thing when I was 16 and living in Oz I'm sure alot of people have heard of Social D but not many people listen to em so I was introduced to the music via NoFX, Bad Religion Rancide and other Fat Wreck/Epitaph bands. Anyway...I was in the middle of a Bad Brains/Ramones/Circle Jerks kinda phase and a guy I worked with said "try listening to a band called Social Distortion...I guarantee you will love it". He wasn't wrong and I bought "Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell" soon after and was hooked immediately

Used to get challenged just walking down the street wearing a choke chain collar and having bleached hair, shit now I go to baseball games and see 8 year olds with Green Mohawks that their Morman parents gave them.

I see the punk rock kids today and figure they probably think I am some old guy old enough to be their dad. Pretty damn funny. At least the hair is still bleached (and I have it LOL)

Lots of interesting replies, at least I am not the oldest one here

Looking forward to the SLC show

I am 34 and started listening to SD in 1983 or 1984. Since I grew up in Indianapolis, I did not get a chance to see them until 1988 at Bogarts in Cincinnati. They played with the Flat Duo Jets, another great band if you can find any of their material.

27, I started listening to MLM and ST in highschool (1991). I hadn't listened to them in a long time and then about a year and a half ago my co-worker brought in somewhere between heaven and hell. I have been listening to them almost constantly since then.

I'll be 31 in a couple months...started listening to SXDX in the late eighties...and havn't stopped since. Unfortunately I've only seen them like 4 times and saw Mike's solo show at a small club in Virginia Beach.

    Definately my favorite band......
